Settlers Ridge Care Center (Celina, Texas)
In the initial planning of design and function of Settlers Ridge Care Center,
the owner's philosophy on quality resident care took top priority. Residents
deserve a place they can be proud to call home.
Attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the construction. From the
stone and brick exterior to the richness of detail inside, it feels like Texas and
feels like home. This warm, comfortable environment encourages family involvement
and adds to an improved quality of life for residents.
Lush landscaping and verdant vistas provide each resident's room with a pleasant, interesting view.
Two separate nursing stations accommodate both staff and residents' needs, allowing for shorter
corridors with recessed resident doorways to help alleviate an institutional feel.
Four different color schemes with bold-accent walls also add interest to residents' living space.
Corridors and common areas feature ceiling fans, chandeliers, and wall sconces,
contributing to the warmth of the environment.
Two courtyards also contribute to residents' enjoyment. The interior courtyard is an exciting outdoor
space with a large gazebo, walking paths, birdhouses, and abundant landscaping. Based on
participation in the Eden Alternative(tm), this courtyard is home to a pair of golden pheasants, several chukar partridges,
and four white doves. The exterior, fenced courtyard has herb and vegetable gardens, a gazebo,
and walking paths. There is also an aviary inside the facility, and Settlers Ridge is home to Angel,
a rescued greyhound; a cat named Bandit; and Flopsie the rabbit.
